Landsdown Road Station – not graffiti, this is corporate art. Painted by Dan Leo this is just part of a mural running along the railway tracks next to Ireland’s national rugby stadium. It was commissioned by New Stadium Ltd and Iarnrod Eireann.

Moss Street – This building once housed the City Arts Community Project (formally the Grapevine Arts Centre). It would appear to be a victim of the post Celtic Tiger crash, the people who bought the building having gone bankrupt. Its current ownership is vague.

Wolf or Smile – STT01763

Grand Canal Dock – I am sure that psychologists could use this as a test: which do you see, the wolf or the smiling face? Who knows what character trait is revealed by either answer…

Poolbeg Lighthouse – STT02200

Poolbeg Lighthouse. Marking the mouth of the River Liffey in Dublin it greets visitors sailing into the port, and bids farewell to those leaving. The current structure dates back to 1820, although there had been a lighhouse near this point in the bay since 1767. The lighthouse sits at the end of the four kilometer long South Wall which seperates Dublin Bay from the river. Construction of the South Wall begain in 1717 and completed in 1795. It is still the longest sea wall in Europe.

River Escort. The ferries leaving Dublin are escorted along the River Liffey by scavanger gulls ever hopeful of a morsel of unattended food. Behind this black backed gull lies the derilict former power station and Pigeon House Hotel, which dates back to the 1700s

Sandymount Pharmacy STT01760

Sandymount Pharmacy was originally built as a a chandler’s shop. The Art Nouveau facade was added around 1900. During the 1980s it briefly became a retaurant where my wife and I dined.
